WHY CONNECT ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO THE INTERNET?

The internet should be what brings
people together, not part of the chasm
that separates them.

WHO ARE OUR PARTNERS IN THIS EXCITING JOURNEY?

AND HOW MAY WE ASSIST THEM?

PUBLIC SCHOOL
PRINCIPALS

MegaEdu assists in identifying improvements that will bring schools closer to connectivity.

MANAGERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

MegaEdu partners with The Department of Education through a technical consultancy for the design and implementation of a plan to bring high-speed internet suitable for teaching purposes in all public schools.

FEDERAL PUBLIC
POLICY MANAGERS

MegaEdu actively supports the creation of public policies focused on solving connectivity issues in schools.

TELECOMMUNICATION COMPANIES

MegaEdu can collaborate in optimizing infrastructure resource decisions and in determining investment priorities for telecommunications companies.

HOW DO WE CONNECT PUBLIC SCHOOLS?

Connecting all public schools to the internet is possible!

In Brazil, MegaEdu will uphold leaders responsible for bringing high speed internet to our public schools. That means developing simple, data-driven solutions and ideas that will bring together those who have the right to internet access and those who are willing to help transform education.

WHAT DO WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY “CONNECTED SCHOOLS”?:

INTERNET ACCESS

100% of schools should have high quality access to the internet, regardless of location or their unique needs (i.e., infrastructure). Schools should be connected with the technology that will enable them to contract high speed internet packages

HIGH SPEED

Just having access to the internet is not enough - each school must have contracted at least 1MB of connection speed per student to enable learning through watching videos, conducting research, sending emails, and downloading files.

WI-FI IN THE CLASSROOM

Schools should procure adequate wi-fi equipment in order to provide internet signal directly to all classrooms, enabling teachers and students to incorporate technology use into their routine.

OUR SUPPORTERS

All of MegaEdu's efforts are possible thanks to partners committed to transforming the future of Brazilian students.

MegaEdu is inspired by the Education SuperHighway project, a civil society organization in the US which helped connect public schools to fiber optics high speed internet. If they have shown it is possible to connect all schools there, it is past time we face this challenge in Brazil!
